EWS Meaning

Unreserved members of Indian society whose annual household income is less than one lakh rupees are considered to be part of the economically weaker section (EWS). Those who do not belong to the Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, or Other Backward Caste categories but are otherwise eligible for reservation under India’s economic weaker segment criteria are eligible for a 10% quota. Admission Form

You don’t need any offline form as it is available online on the official website of the Directorate of Education Delhi which is EduDel.nic.in. Once the admission starts it will be appear on the website.

Admission Form and Documents

The Directorate of Education, Delhi’s website has the EWS application form for Delhi schools. Delhi ews admission documents required often include:

  • Photograph of child
  • Child birth certificate
  • Certificate of income (EWS Category)
  • Caste Certificate (DG Category)
  • Child and parent Aadhar cards
  • Residence-proof
  • The school may require other important documentation.

Address evidence must be from the list below:

All must note that rent agreement is not address proof.

Proof of Ward birth

Birth certificate, hospital/auxiliary nurse and midwife (ANM) register, anganwadi record list, and parental/guardian declaration of child’s age.

Eligibility Criteria

Since March 31, pre-school (nursery), pre-primary (KG), and Class-1 have minimum ages of three, four, and five. Preschool, pre-primary, and Class-1 have ews admission age limit of four, five, and six years, respectively, according to PTI.  The notification indicated that the head of school may offer a 30-day age relaxation for enrolment in these classes’ minimum and upper age limitations. It said schools can answer parent questions from January 13 to 22 after the initial list was released. The notification indicated that parents might manually apply for age relaxation to the head of school/principal. You can understand the age limit via below table:

  • Nursery: The children who were less than 4 years old as of March 31 of the requested entrance year.
  • KG: Less than five years as of the requested admission’s March 31st date.
  • Class 1st: Children under the age of six as of March 31 of the year that the admission is requested.

Directorate of Education (DoE) directed that each district’s deputy director head a monitoring cell. The notification stated that these officials should ensure that private unaided recognized schools upload the criteria and their points on the online module on its website as per the deadline and do not adopt those criteria abolished by the department and upheld by the high court.

It said the monitoring cells will also guarantee that all schools upload the details of children who applied for open seats and their point system, as well as all admitted pupils, to the DoE website. By January 2023, schools must upload admission criteria and points to the online module.

If applicants tie, a computerized or slip-based draw will be done in front of parents. The school will keep the lot draw video. No prospectus is required with the admission form, and parents can pay Rs 25 as registration fees, the statement noted. Last year, admissions began on December 1. Unaided Recognised Private Schools Action Committee president Bharat Arora praised the early announcement of entry-level admissions in Delhi, which will help parents and schools plan for the following academic year. He noted that schools will have adequate time to upgrade infrastructure and other resources for the following semester.

Registration Process

In the first quarter of the year, Delhi schools begin EWS online registration. Parents or guardians of eligible students may fill out the online application form on the Directorate of Education, Delhi website (http://edudel.nic.in/). Complete the application, attach the relevant documents, and submit online. Pre-school (Nursery), Pre-Primary (KG), and Class-1 have minimal ages of three, four, and five years by March 31 of the year in which admission is sought, according to this Directorate of Education.   • EWS nursery admission: Under 4 years old on March 31 of the year of admission.
  • Pre-primary (KG): Under 5 years old on March 31 in the year of admission.

Result

Process after result

After the results are announced, the Directorate of Education, Delhi, will contact schools about document verification and admission. The chosen candidates must visit the schools to verify their documentation and complete the admission procedure.

        1. You are right the mentioned number not working we will update it soon with the new numbers once declared by the DOE Delhi as you already know that nothing is started yet for EWS Admission in Delhi yet.
